In all my years of biking, I've never had a wheel come untrue because of a little sliding....

I'm personally a fan of the Surly Pugsley and Salsa Beargrease, IMO Specialized hopped on the bandwagon a touch too late.

I haven't tried one but from the lightness of this, I might be able to go up local mt diablo with this. Insane though.

Drool, I want a Fat Bike so bad.
I slid my CX bike once, ate shit the first time but changed out of my clips and it got way more fun.

I'm intrigued. I've had some seat time on a Pugsley and it was not light by any means, but I've always been under the impression that it was in the wheels.

Whats the terrain for this type of bike? crosscountry snow/mud? I was surprised to see such an offroader with no suspension. I ride a Specialized 29er

Or sand stuff.
I've got a GT on 29s without suspension, and its awesome on loose dirt/light mud. Terrible on rocks.

most of the stuff around here has a lot of rocks and roots. Its a bit rough without at least front suspension which is what I have. I rented a $5000 downhill bike at a place in New Hampshire. It was an old ski mountain converted to downhill biking. It was the craziest thing I have ever done on a bike. 2 people left in ambulances that day. I kid had no place on the mountain and went face first off an 8' drop. he was moving but not much. Everything around home is kinda flat no no need for full suspension
